Store Links

Once your release is live on streaming platforms, you’ll want to share it with fans. This guide shows you how to find your store links and use them effectively for promotion.

Store links are the URLs that take listeners directly to your music on streaming platforms. Each platform has its own unique link:

PlatformLink Format
Spotifyopen.spotify.com/album/...
Apple Musicmusic.apple.com/album/...
Amazon Musicmusic.amazon.com/albums/...
YouTube Musicmusic.youtube.com/playlist/...
Deezerdeezer.com/album/...
TIDALtidal.com/browse/album/...

Why links matter: Direct links make it easy for fans to find your music. Instead of asking them to “search for my new single,” you can send them straight there.

LabelGrid collects your store links automatically once your release is live.

  1. Go to Catalogue > My Releases.
  2. Click on your release.
  3. Navigate to the Links tab.

What You’ll See

ColumnDescription
PlatformStreaming service name
StatusLive / Pending / Not Available
LinkClickable URL to your release
CopyButton to copy link to clipboard

Note: Links appear gradually as platforms process your release. Major platforms usually have links within 2-5 days of going live.

Links follow this general timeline:

Release approved → Delivery complete → Platform live → Links available
(usually same day)
PlatformTime After Going Live
SpotifySame day
Apple MusicSame day
Amazon MusicSame day to 24 hours
YouTube MusicSame day to 24 hours
DeezerSame day to 24 hours
TIDALSame day to 24 hours
BeatportSame day to 48 hours
Smaller platforms1-3 days

Check these first:

  1. Is the release actually live on the platform? (Search for it directly)
  2. Has it been at least 24 hours since going live?
  3. Is there a delivery error for that platform?

Still missing? Contact support with your release details.

Instead of sharing multiple platform links, you can create a single “smart link” that directs fans to their preferred platform.

A smart link is a single URL that:

  • Shows all available streaming platforms
  • Lets listeners choose their preferred service
  • Works on any device
  • Tracks clicks and engagement

Example: linktr.ee/yourname/newsingle or distrokid.com/hyperfollow/artist/song

If your plan includes smart links:

  1. Go to your release’s Links tab.
  2. Click Create Smart Link.
  3. Customize the appearance (colors, image).
  4. Copy your new smart link URL.

LinktreeSimple, widely usedFree + paid tiers
Feature.fmPre-save campaigns, analyticsFree + paid tiers

Tip: Even free tiers of these services can significantly improve your promotional reach.

Before your release date, you can share pre-save links that let fans save your music in advance.

How Pre-Saves Work

  1. Fan clicks your pre-save link before release day
  2. They authorize adding the release to their library
  3. On release day, the music automatically appears in their library/playlist

Benefits of Pre-Saves

  • Day-one streams - Saved releases start streaming immediately on release
  • Algorithm boost - Signals interest to platform algorithms
  • Audience engagement - Fans feel involved in your release

Setting Up Pre-Saves

Pre-save links typically become available after your release is approved but before the release date.

  1. Check your release’s Links tab after approval.
  2. Look for “Pre-save” links (usually Spotify, Apple Music).
  3. Share these links in your promotional materials.

Timing: Start promoting pre-saves 2-4 weeks before release for maximum impact.

Social Media Best Practices

Do:

  • Use smart links (one link for all platforms)
  • Include a call-to-action (“Stream now,” “Listen here”)
  • Add relevant hashtags
  • Post at times when your audience is active

Don’t:

  • Post just a bare link with no context
  • Spam the same link repeatedly
  • Assume everyone uses Spotify (link to multiple platforms)

Platform-Specific Tips

PlatformBest Approach
InstagramLink in bio, Story swipe-up if available
Twitter/XDirect link in tweet, pinned tweet for new releases
TikTokLink in bio, reference it in videos
FacebookDirect post with link preview

What to Track

MetricWhat It Tells You
Click countTotal interest in your link
Platform breakdownWhich services your fans use
Geographic dataWhere your listeners are located
Device typeMobile vs. desktop engagement

Where to Track

LabelGrid analytics:

  • Basic click data available in dashboard
  • Platform breakdown when using LabelGrid smart links

Third-party tools:

  • More detailed analytics available
  • A/B testing capabilities
  • Conversion tracking

Tip: Use UTM parameters in your links to track which promotional channels work best.

If links aren’t appearing in LabelGrid, you can find them directly on platforms.

Spotify

  1. Open Spotify (app or web).
  2. Search for your release.
  3. Click Share > Copy Link.

Apple Music

  1. Open Apple Music (app or web).
  2. Search for your release.
  3. Click > Share > Copy Link.

YouTube Music

  1. Go to music.youtube.com.
  2. Search for your release.
  3. Copy the URL from your browser.

Amazon Music

  1. Go to music.amazon.com.
  2. Search for your release.
  3. Copy the URL from your browser.

Note: Manually found links work the same as auto-detected links. LabelGrid just saves you the search time.

Beyond release links, you may want to share your artist profile links.

Why Share Artist Profiles?

  • Followers get notified of new releases
  • Builds your overall streaming presence
  • Allows fans to explore your full catalog
PlatformHow to Find
SpotifyArtist page > Share > Copy Link
Apple MusicArtist page > … > Share
YouTube MusicArtist page > Share
OthersSimilar process on each platform

Including in Your Bio

Create a standard “listen” link for your bio:

  • Website: Direct link to your smart link page
  • Social bios: Smart link or Linktree

Some platforms have different link formats for:

  • Different regions (US vs. UK Apple Music, for example)
  • App vs. web versions
  • Direct links vs. search results

All variations work - they point to the same content.

Possible causes:

  1. Geographic restriction - Content not available in that country
  2. Not yet live - Platform still processing
  3. Taken down - Content was removed

Check:

  • Is the release actually live? (Search the platform directly)
  • Is there a territory restriction on your release?
  • Check delivery status for that platform

Can I customize my store URLs?

Platform URLs are generated by each service and can’t be customized. However, you can:

  • Use smart links with custom short URLs
  • Use URL shorteners (bit.ly, etc.)
  • Create custom redirects on your own website

Most platforms support both:

  • Album/release link - Shows the full release
  • Track link - Goes directly to one song

To get a track link, navigate to the specific track on the platform and use that URL instead of the album URL.

Maintain a document with all your release links:

ReleaseSpotifyAppleAmazonSmart Link
Single 1[link][link][link][link]
Album 1[link][link][link][link]

This makes it easy to find links for promotion without logging in each time.

Update Old Content

When you have new releases:

  1. Update your bio links
  2. Consider refreshing old social posts
  3. Add new releases to your website

Keep a record of all links even for older releases - fans may discover your catalog at any time.
