Amazon Music

Amazon Music offers unique insights thanks to its integration with Alexa and the broader Amazon ecosystem. With Amazon Music for Artists, you can track voice requests, analyze listener behavior, and promote your music.

Artist Portal: artists.amazonmusic.com

Amazon Music requires unique artwork for each release. You cannot reuse the same album cover for multiple releases.

This applies especially to:

  • Various artist compilations
  • Multiple versions of the same album (deluxe editions, etc.)
  • Singles from the same project

If you submit releases with duplicate artwork, they may be rejected.

Since many Amazon Music listeners use Alexa to request music by voice, make sure your artist and track names are:

  • Clear and easy to pronounce
  • Unique (avoid generic names that could match other artists)
  • Consistently spelled across all your releases

LabelGrid supports Dolby Atmos delivery to Amazon Music. If you have spatial audio mixes, you can upload them separately in the track’s Dolby tab with their own ISRC. Amazon Music Ultra HD subscribers can enjoy your immersive mixes.

  • At least one release live on Amazon Music (distributed through LabelGrid)
  • An Amazon retail account
  • Your artist name as it appears on Amazon Music
  1. Go to artists.amazonmusic.com
  2. Sign in with your Amazon retail account
  3. Search for and select your artist
  4. Submit your claim (may require distributor verification)
  5. Wait for approval

When fans ask Alexa to play your music, it’s logged in your Voice Index. This is unique to Amazon and provides insights no other platform offers.

Amazon evaluates your fan engagement on Alexa relative to similarly-sized artists based on a trailing 7-day period. Results show a status ranging from “Cool” to “On Fire”:

  • On Fire - Very high voice activity compared to peers
  • Hot - High voice activity
  • Warm - Above average voice activity
  • Cool - Room for growth
  • Voice requests indicate strong fan intent
  • Alexa users tend to be more engaged listeners
  • Voice-first discovery is growing rapidly

Amazon Music for Artists provides comprehensive analytics:

  • Total streams and listeners - Overall performance metrics
  • Top tracks and territories - See what’s resonating where
  • Listener demographics - Age, gender, and location data
  • Playlist additions - Track your playlist placements
  • CSV export - Download data for custom reporting

Unlike most platforms that update daily, Amazon refreshes analytics multiple times per hour, giving you near real-time insights into your music’s performance.

Amazon Music for Artists supports three access levels for team management:
