Songs go viral on TikTok when they become part of a trend. Here’s how to increase your chances:

  1. Create the first video - Demonstrate how to use your sound
  2. Make it easy to replicate - Simple dances, lip-syncs, or concepts
  3. Use a hook - Feature the catchiest 15-30 seconds
  4. Engage with users - Comment on and duet with fan content
  5. Post consistently - Stay active on the platform

Challenges are one of the most effective ways to promote music:

  1. Create a simple, repeatable concept
  2. Use a memorable hashtag
  3. Demonstrate the challenge yourself
  4. Encourage fans to participate
  5. Share and engage with user content

Example: Rapper Calboy’s #EnvyMeChallenge generated millions of views and helped the song reach the Billboard Hot 100.

Your sound page is where users discover and use your music:

  • Make sure your track title is clear
  • The best 15-60 second clip should be the default
  • Monitor which videos are performing best

TikTok’s own distribution platform, SoundOn, allows direct upload to TikTok and Resso.

Note: LabelGrid distributes to TikTok directly, so you don’t need SoundOn. Your music is automatically available for TikTok users to create with.

  1. Search for creators in your genre
  2. Look at who’s using similar music
  3. Check the For You page for trending sounds
  4. Use TikTok’s Creator Marketplace for partnerships
